Autism and sleep difficulties

Like many with Autism, Brantley has struggled with sleep since he was three years old. Some nights he doesn’t sleep at all, but rather parties like this and eats his walls. We have been trying to get a safety bed for him for over a year and I am hopeful we will get approval soon.

In the meantime, we have made his room as safe as possible for him. His window is not breakable, his outlets are moved to the top of his walls and he has nothing in his room but a bed, a blanket and a few stuffed animals, I guess those are the friends he has join in the party.

Myself, I lay in bed and listen or watch from the security camera we have mounted on the top of his wall. He sure sounds and looks like he has fun, but I pray everynight that he will sleep. I know he needs it and I know I do too.
