Over the past 6 years, Brantley has made a habit of stripping whenever he can. It's been a constant challenge – loving him comes easy, but keeping him clothed is the real struggle.
We've relied on a tightly cinched belt and pajamas with zippers up the back to prevent his frequent exposure. They've been our saving grace and without them, his bare butt would be on regular display while sounds of giggles erupt through the air.
But here we are, into the second week of our toilet training regimen, and I'm pleasantly surprised to see Brantley sticking to his clothes for the most part. It raises a thought: Could his constant urge to strip down have been more about his disdain for those dreaded diapers than anything else?
As we wade through this new phase, I find myself questioning his new found willingness to wear his clothes but I am also hit with a wave of relief and pride. Seeing Brantley manage to keep his clothes on, without a belt, might seem insignificant to some, but for us, it's a major breakthrough. It's a stark reminder that progress can be made, even in the face of what feels like endless battles against bare butts.
