Triumphs and Joy

Yesterday marked our early Christmas celebration with family, a timely strategy to ease Brantley into the holiday chaos, navigating his challenges with crowds and new presents.

He amazed me with his progress, he delightfully overcame his sensory issues with wrapping paper and unwrapped a present, even though it wasn't his. He played joyfully with new toys upon seeing them and unlike previous years of seeking solitude, Brantley embraced the shared chaos of opening presents with his cousins and brother. All of these were

notable firsts in his eight Christmases.

The highlight was Brantley's genuine excitement over it all, his smile shining like the star atop the tree. No tears, no meltdowns, just excitement and pride—his excitement for the holiday festivities and my pride in his growth.

Sharing in Brantley's childlike excitement, I am truly elated at how well he navigated our Christmas celebration. As we tread carefully into the remaining weeks I aim not to count the presents before Santa's sleigh arrives, but I envision a Christmas morning free of meltdowns—a continued celebration of our Savior's birth and the unbounded joy in Brantley's heart.
